Scarlet Macaw Baby (Ara macao) Available! This baby has been DNA sexed a female. Scarlet Macaws are strong personalities but can be absolutely outstanding companions in the right home. They are very playful, loving and smart. A well-socialized Scarlet Macae can also be very affectionate and loving. Like any large parrot, training is a must. They require a large enclosure filled with tons of toys and dynamic perching. Ideally, the minimum cage size for this size bird is 40"x30"x75" with a 1"bar spacing. A Scarlet Macaw can make a wonderful family companion. At Parrot Stars we focus on education, nutrition, and conservation. We work very hard to help educate our customers on parrot companionship. Prior to taking a bird home, we will provide information on proper housing, creating a safe environment, diet, behavior, hormones and much more. No question will go unanswered. Every hand fed baby is weaned on to a high variety diet. They are weaned onto fruits and veggies, a soak and sprout mix made here in store, high variety seed mix that is also made in store, and naturally colored pellets.
